Flute problems associated with my braces =/?!

Question: Ugh, Ive had my braces for a while, and it took a while for me to get used to playing my flute with them but I finally got it. But only one problem, with my low and middle F note. I can play it fine and all of a sudden I just cant play it at all no matter what I do with my ombresure (sp?) and then after like a month all of a sudden Ill just get it. it goes on and off... weird...

My friend had this same problem, except with high and middle C. I worked with her with it and she found the problem. It was something she was chaging that you cant really prevent from happening in your ombechure. When you keep it the same for so long it has tendency to change itself without the player realizing. She worked with our band director for a couple months until she solved her problem

I have braces and I play the claranet. Honestly I have the same problem. *Not the names notes.*

i play the flute and have had braces for almost three years now. i had problems right when they were on for a few weeks. but then now i can play it fine. it could be your flute. it may have a loose screw or need cleaning. or maybe your mouth just forgets how it needs to be with braces in order to play. i'd take a look at your flute or have your music teacher to look at it to start out. good luck!
