What can I expect with root canal treatment?
I had a root canal treatment attempt a few days ago, but the root had retracted far into the tooth.
I am seeing an endodontist in a few hours to get it fixed.
What can I expect?

Since you will be seeing an endodontist, you can expect him/her to be really good at what they do. They do root canals all day every day. More than likely your regular dentist was having some difficulty with that particular tooth and decided to send you to a specialist to get the job done right.
I have gone to an endodontist and had 2 root canal performed and it went smoothly and quickly. It was on 2 front teeth that only have one canal though, so for you it will depend on your specific tooth.
