Peroxide is what is used to whitening teeth. It comes in different strengths. Only the kind you get from the dentist will be highest level available. Baking powder has corn starch, sodium bicarbonate, sodium aluminum sulfate and monocalcium phosphate. It makes things rise. I'm not sure what bleaching powder is exactly except that Bleach that you use for cleaning things is sodium hypochlorite. Were you possibly thinking baking soda? That is sodium bicarbonate. It doesn't whiten teeth it only cleans them, which may make them look whiter depending on when the last time you brushed. It is just like toothpaste....it is a dentifrice or a type of abrasive. It is not harmful to your teeth though. You could just use a plain brush with nothing on it and clean your teeth...its the scrubbing action that makes them clean.
Hope that helped.

sweet

its most likley something to do with bleaching. the negative effects of it could show up when you get older though...

Most chemical teeth bleaching products use carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide (what they use in hair bleaching products).

Hope it helps :)
