If a person doesn't have enamel on some of their teeth, what treatment options !
Question:
If a person doesn't have enamel on some of their teeth, what treatment options are available?
To keep teeth healthy and long lasting...
Answers:
If the affected teeth are not sensitive they are sometimes left alone. Sometimes a protective sealant can be placed over the area lacking the enamel. When teeth lack enamel, the underlying dentin is exposed which is softer and more porous and susceptible to tooth decay. If the tooth is decayed-it is filled first. So the options vary depending upon the symptoms you are having and the cosmetics(way they look). If they are sensitive or really discolored a veneer(which is a porcelain facing and does not cover the whole tooth) is placed. Or a crown(which covers the entire crown portion of the tooth) is recommended. Good luck with your dental treatment.
