When Mouthwash burns does that mean it's working?!

Question:

When Mouthwash burns does that mean it's working?

I think it's the alcohol, but I've been told by several people that the burning sensation is actually the mouthwash wiping out bacteria. Is this true?

Answers:

No, it is alcohol stripping away the good and the bad bacteria in your mouth.

It is better to brush your teeth, floss, and rinse with a salt water solution or a mild, non-alcoholic mouth wash you can get at any drugstore.

The more you use alcohol, it will kill the good bacteria and cause you to have more problems.

Chew gums with xylitol between meals to keep your saliva active and healthy.
