Does it hurt to rinse with salt water after a tooth was pulled?!

Question: No, it won't hurt and it will help to stay clean and prevent swelling. BUT, do NOT do it the same day you had the tooth pulled. Wait for at least 24 hours for a blood clot to form. Don't rinse your mouth the day you had the extraction. You can eat soft food and drink maybe a couple of hours or so after you had the tooth pulled, just don't rinse your mouth yet. The next day, you can VERY GENTLY rinse your mouth with saltwater. Also, don't drink through a straw for at least 3 days, and be sure you follow any other directions the dentist gave you.

yes but it helps the bleeding

No, it does not.

no its the best thing to use.. salt fights infection.. my daughter just got all her teeth pulled and the dentist told her to rinse with warm salt water and it cuts down on the bleeding too.

No, it doesn't. Be sure to rinse only after the time when the dentist says it's OK and don't swish vigorously.

No. You use only a small amount of salt in a cup or glass of water. It cleanses the wound and soothes the swelling. Don't worry about that aspect of an extraction. IT actually helps.
