How often are you supposed to get a normal dental x-ray when you visit?!

Question: is it every appointment? every other appointment? or like every year????

thanks

It is based on how prone you are to cavities. For most people, taking a set of bitewing x-rays, 1 or 2 pictures per side, once a year is good. Some people more prone to cavities should have them every 6 months. Usually once a year and they might take a full mouth set once every 3-5 years to check every detail of your mouth from hidden problems depending on how often you have problems such as cavities, etc.

usually every 6 months for bitewing xrays (4) and about 3-5 years for a full mouth series (18). It is important to have these because you can not visually see under restorations and between teeth

i think like every other visit...thats what my dentist does.
