Answers:

As a dentist myself, I can tell you that this could turn into a very serious problem. If your tooth hurts, then quits, then returns etc, that is a sure sign of a cavity that is decaying further into your tooth and nerve. If not treated, a cavity can become so decayed that an abscess (infection) forms. Not only is this EXTREMELY painful, it can also lead to very life threatening complications. Infection can spread into the throat causing upper airway obstructions and can spread to the heart and brain causing sometimes fatal effects. Abscess teeth always lead to the patient being prescribed antibiotics and usually lead to either root canal therapy or extraction. Do yourself a favor and PLEASE see your regular dentist as soon as possible before your tooth becomes much worse. Good luck and please see a dentist as soon as possible.
