Does that Act Restoring Mouth stuff really work?!
Question: Or is it just bunch of lies
Answers: Or is it just bunch of lies
Hi, I'm a dentist.
ACT mouth rinse contains fluoride, which can help prevent and heal lesions on teeth that will become cavities if left unchecked and oral hygiene doesn't improve. A simplified explanation is that fluoride presence helps hasten remineralization of teeth and strengthens enamel. Hydroxyapetite (enamel) becomes fluorapetite (enamel + fluoride ion), which is stronger and more resistant to demineralization via acid challenge.
Hope this helps.
Sure it might help prevent but I don't think it actually will heal cavities. You need a dentist for that.
I never used it before but i just think it's a bunch of lies but if you don't believe me then check on wikipedia or google.
I started using it after I saw an ad for it on TV, and I went to the dentist last week and had a cavity, so I'm not sure if it really reverses cavities.
Basically, ACT will help prevent future cavities IF you combine it with proper dental hygiene, ie: brushing for a full 2 minutes 2 times a day and flossing everyday.
I would not count on ACT to be able to "fix" any already established decay.
Side note: Decay is actually an infectious disease. The bacteria that causes decay thrives on sugars and will move from tooth to tooth if not stopped.
