Braces ??..........expander/spac...


Question: um okay so..

i had an expander and then when they took that out they put a smaller wire to hold the place that the expander caused and tonight it came loose and i kind of got it back up there but im scared that its going to looses the space up there.

i have 15 days until i go back should i go in as an emergency appt. just to have them check it out?

call and ask, but it's not worth worrying about this instant. If you had the expander for a great amount of time, it shouldn't be that important. And by expander, you mean the annoying thing on the top of your mouth that you have to crank with a key every night?

that was lame, i had this huge gap for months.

Well yes I think you should call tomarrow so your doctor can fix it dont wait on it, and be carefull it does not come lose while your sleeping.

always go back in if you feel something is broken (especially your expander!). leaving it till your next appointment could mean that your braces are not working as they are supposed to, which means they will be on for longer.

It came loose, are you talking about the band (ring around molar) Anyways, you should call them and tell them what happened. They will want to probably see you just to be safe. They might have to take it out and recement it or if it broke you will need to get a new one. Better to be safe than sorry!
