Im a dental assistant student and i've been told that the average hourly wage for a dental assistant is from $17-$22.
theres a difference tho if you are a registered d. a. or a certified d.a. a registered will make more.
My friend gets around $14.50.. Not that great.

It probably depends on the area of the country you live in. I'm in Ohio and dental assistants start at around $13 or $14 an hour.
South Florida average pay is around $20 an hour. This is what I made doing temp work (when waiting for my hygiene license.) It all depends on your experience and the dentist. BTW - private offices.
