What you may have heard is that swallowing pieces of metal fillings can hurt you. This belief comes from the fact that older amalgam (metal) fillings contain traces of mercury, which, in large doses, could certainly kill you. But A) amalgam fillings have been used for a hundred years now and there are no documented cases of people dying from them and B) the trace amounts of mercury are so small that you are more likely to be poisoned from eating a fish dinner. So please relax. Dental procedures are your friend!!!

This is absurd. nothing will happen if you swallow a part of your tooth by accident. you may rest assured.
If that were the case, I'd a been dead a long time ago. It doesn't matter, it's a part of your body anyway. I've swallowed (by accident of course) a lot of pieces of my teeth when they've been falling apart. It's just a ridiculous rumor that you really need not worry about.
