Are braces free on the NHS?!

Question: Hi there can any1 tell me if braces are free on the NHS? Coz i need them coz my teeth are wonky and it bites into my cheek and is painful. If not free, why and when did the law change?

i was on the nhs and i had wonkey teeth. you dentist should refer you to a ortho like mine did. i was sent to the local hosp and it was free. but now i refused the operation i have no choice but to go private. so we might have to pay now rather than have it free on the nhs. :)

THey are free only at dentist university!!!The law doesn't change ,dentists are humans they must live and this can't happen without money.
