What helps sensitive teeth? before i go to the dentist?

what are some things i can try to help sensitive teeth before making a dentist appointment. beside sensidyne.

it is sensitivity to hot and cold. i really dont think it is a gum problem. they dont hurt

Go to the store and get a fluoride mouth rinse...generic is fine. Use it in the morning and then again each night at bedtime. If the sensitivity [you didn't say what kind!] continues then see a dentist as you may have problems that need to be corrected there.
