My missing tooth?!

Question: About 2 years ago I lost a baby tooth. The dentist said to me that another tooth is not gonna grow back. So now 2yrs later I still have that space from this tooth. I really don't like it and would like to have that spot fixed. My first question is how can I get that fixed (i mean like get a fake tooth in that spot) and second question, how much will it cost to fix it and how old will I have to be to fix it. I am 14 years old now I'm probably not old enough to.
Sorry if I didn't ask this question very well I hope you understand it
I appreciate the answers I will get :)

Hi, I'm a dentist.

The answer to your question depends on a lot of factors, including which tooth it is and how much space you have in that spot for the replacement tooth. To replace this tooth, you're probably going to want to have an implant placed. If there is not enough space for an implant, you're going to need to make space with orthodontics (braces). If there is not enough bone for an implant, you'll need a bone graft. As you can see this can get very complex.

If you don't want to deal with an implant, you could get a traditional fixed partial denture (commonly called a bridge). I wouldn't recommend this, however. It is not as successful in the long term, and it is far less conservative dentistry.

For a bridge, count on paying around 800-1000 per unit of the bridge (in your case it'd be a 3 unit bridge, so you're looking at 2400-3000 dollars).

For an implant it's probably going to cost around 4-5000 dollars, including the crown on the implant.

How much this will cost when you're old enough to have it done (likely around age 18 or older) is unknown, but you can count on it being more expensive.

I hope that helps.

I'm no dentist but i am sure that the orthidonist (however you spell it) will know. The fake tooth won't be like dentures. My first guess is that you may have lost the baby tooth at a younge forgetable age and you ost it again when u were 12. This is way it may have not grown back. Talk to the dentist i am sure the ensuraince will cove a bit.
