Can i still have braces even though i had my root canal in my front tooth?!

Question:

Can i still have braces even though i had my root canal in my front tooth?

Answers:

Absolutely. Braces and Root Canals don't conflict with each other. If you already have a crown on the front tooth, the only concern the dentist might have, and it's minor, is using a different adhesive to apply the brace to that crowned tooth. Crowns are made of porcelain and the bonding agents we use for fillings/braces don't work well with porcelain, but there are ways around it and different cements.
A root canaled tooth does become more brittle because the vitality/nerve has been taken out, so you should always be a little bit more careful with that tooth anyway. If the root canal tooth has some good solid tooth structure remaining it should be just fine. If a major portion of that tooth is filling, a crown should be considered at some point.
Not all root canaled teeth change color, and if the root canaled tooth does, there are internal and external bleaching systems that can be applied to that tooth as well.
