I hate the dentist because it hurts when he's drilling my teeth, and even after that, for a couple of weeks, the tooth he drilled is still sensitive. And these days it's always the same exact tooth whose fillings come off, and it's always the same tooth that he drills on, and it's really annoying. And I have to go to the dentist tomorrow.. I don't know if I'll be able to stand it anymore. I remember last time, I felt the my nerve reacting or whatever to the drilling when he pressed a little harder, it started at my tooth, went down my chin and back. I thought my jaw was gonna split in half. It was like a fing lightning.

Going to the dentist is like listening to a dido cd, guess which one is more painful.

To be really honest I don't hate the dentist in person but I hate the whole clinical setting, the horrible smeel and the way they bring out all those scary big tools.

I've had dental surgery and the needle hurts and my mouth hurt for at least a day when I had it done.

Me, i hate the drill

I hate mine because he had a big picture of Elvis on the wall that stares at you 0___O.

Also because he insists that he must talk to me in German which isn't the funniest thing when your mouths numb and you just want to go home.

I've got an all female staff at my local dentist surgery and that seems to more than make up for the pain! Giggidy!

I dont really hate anybody but i dislike attending the dentist for treatment but what really gets my goat up is having to pay for the pain ouch

i hate the dentist that much that when they privatised i let my place go, Ive been told i have beautiful teeth by the dentist but im just really scared of the needles and the drill, i think it started when i was given a filling when i was 16yrs old and went to another dentist because we moved and they said i didn't need the filling so i felt nervous from then and its just escalated

I do hate going to the dentist because there is always painful work to be done! But if we all went regularly for cleanings, flossed every day and brushed longer we might not have many problems. The dentist truly is our friend cause we woudlnt have teeth or be in excruciating pain without some care. At least when we do go its not like every month.

I prefer the dentists to the hair salon. At least I'm not expected to make mindless small talk.

However, I hate dentists because they cost too much! I've yet to see a financially struggling dentist.

I am frightened of the dentist cos of the needles too, I hate needles and usually have to take something to relax me, like temazepam, before I go.

I had some minor surgery at the gp yesterday, SIX INJECTIONS!!! IN MY NECK!!! Thank god for temazepam is all I can say, theres no way I could have done it without it!

I dont know why I am so frightened of needles, its irrational really, but I cant help it!

Well is anyone going to really love the dentist, except their spouse and children...LOL
But really it's something so important to your health and looks, that we really should love them, right.
Like Police it;s one of those necessary but essential professions. We'd all be toothless fools otherwise!
But yeah, it's cold and clinical at most dentists offices, and that could be amde better in most places.

yes i do hate the dentist but it is not so bad nowadays,
twenty years ago they used to numb the whole mouth but now it is just the tooth they are working on, the best feeling is coming out and thinking yes thats it for six months [touch wood]

I hate the dentist! not personally just the whole process......

I haven't been to the dentist in about 5 years because last time i was there they pulled out my old teeth. When i was a kid i went a bit overboard with the candy.. heheh so i went to the dentist and he put a needle in my gums! that fricken hurt. then he pulled out my teeth... and i don't like the cotton wool they put in your mouth.

So in conclusion the dentist hurts and i don't like it...

I am booked in for an appointment soon tho, apparently i have holes in my teeth.. :P

I feel your pain :D

I do not hate the dentist in as much as i know that they are only trying to make me better and my teeth able to chew better without aching me.

I think the worst one these days are some of the NHS dentists.

I dont think I have ever had such a quick filling in my life - it was no more than 5-10mins. At least it was fast, I suppose.

My husband had a wisdom tooth taken out and the session took no more than 1/2hr, he said the lady dentist was practically standing on his chest yanking away, they also sent him away with no pain killers, and got cross when he phoned the next day in agony, after taking numerous over the counter pain killers with no effect, they basically said "tough"!

Now I am looking for an holistic dentist - have heard very good thing about them, though not many around

I really don't mind going to the dentist. I think I say that because growing up my parents couldn't afford to take me to one after I turned 9. I couldn't afford my own dental care till last year. Last May was the first time in 19 years I was in a dentist's chair. Despite not going to a dentist for that long, the hygentist cleaning my teeth was amazed that they were, for the most part, in good condition. Still I've had a lot to make up for during the past several months: all four wisdom teeth cut out, two fillings, and I'm getting braces today. But I want a pretty smile so I think it's all worth it, although the price tag could stand to be a little lower.

I don't hate my dentist. But I hate the tools displayed on her closet, I mean, the apparatus used for the teeth surgery, cleaning etc...
--My dentist is great, she really is a professional. When she's going to get rid one of my teeth, you really can't feel the pain, but when she inject the anestesia to your gum, you really feel the pain. That's the thing I hate! And I hate the pay thing too!

I dont hate dentists-I dislike them telling us that mercury amalgum fillings are perfectly safe-when in fact they are not.

i HATE THE DENTIST! I only hate it because i'm terrified of them! they always put pointy stuff and stuff that hurts your mouth in your mouth! I get out of the dentist building petrified

I am terrified of the dentist and have just had to have a bridge fitted. My husband rang around and found me a dentist who was sympathetic to 'wimps' like me. He gave me intravenous sedation, I wish I had had that years ago - like you it is the needles for the injections that I hate, and even after the injection I still always jump around in pain - silly really because I'm not afraid of needles anywhere else in the body, infact I was a blood donor for many years. See if you can find a dentist who will give you sedation, it's OK, you are awake and aware of what is going on but don't feel the pain and are certainly much more relaxed.

I love my dentist! : ) Hes so nice.. He sings to me to make me more comfortable!
