I need teeth pulled, do I go to a dentist or orthodontist?!

Question:

I need teeth pulled, do I go to a dentist or orthodontist?

My mouth is too small for all my teeth and so they've started going crooked (mostly because my wisdom teeth have slowly become more prevalent without ever breaking the surface). I don't have the money to afford braces, but I'd like to stop my teeth from becoming any more crooked. Would I contact a dentist or orthodontist about this?

Answers:

As a general dentist myself (DMD), I can assure you that all you need to do is visit your regular dentist. He or she will be able to extract your teeth and should any other procedures be necessary they will refer you to an oral surgeon.
