How do I plan for getting my wisdom teeth pulled?!

Question:

How do I plan for getting my wisdom teeth pulled?

I'm having them pulled soon and I know I can't drive away from the place but what to eat and will I need some OTC painkillers or do they usally prescribe something? My parents are helping pay but I don't want to spend money on a prescription if some thing else will do the trick far cheaper.

Please only answer if you have helpful advice.

Thanks.

Answers:

Seriously, the pain meds will probably be less than $35.

Don't skimp on this one... you'll want the extra "help" to get over the pain for the first few days.

However, if you are totally bent on not getting them, doctors say that 4 tablets of Ibuprofen 3 times a day for NO MORE than 3 weeks is the best way to get rid of inflammation and swelling.

Drink LOTS of water.
Suck on ice.
Get lots of rest.

Tylenol PMs or melatonin really help with knocking you out for a good 4-8 hours. Take the recommended dose on the bottle. But if you take the Pm's.. cut back on your ibuprofen in the amount of pills that you are taking to sleep.
