Have temporary crown with pain.?!

Question:

Have temporary crown with pain.?

Went to dentist 4 days ago to have tooth crowned. Have the temporary in & keep having discomfort on & off throughout the day. It's not the tooth hurting, it's that side of my mouth w/headache on same side where crown will be. Anyone know why? It's weekend - can't get dentist.

Answers:

the tooth is probably sensitive, it was just traumatized it is likely that the decay was close to the nerve, it will feel better when you get the permanent crown in, take some motrin, works wonders for tooth pain!! i am dealing with a painful wisdom tooth right now and it has relieved the pain. it won't hurt to call your dentist on monday and let them know that you are hurting they may be able to get the lab to put a rush on your crown.
