One of my wisdom teeth are coming out, what can i take for pain until my dentist appt.?

As a dentist I WOULD recommend using Motrin (Ibuprofen) or Advil. Although it is true that Ibuprofen will some what thin your blood it should not be much a problem for you as this is not a huge problem unless you are taking some type of prescribed blood thinning medication. Motrin will help not only relieve pain, but it will also help with any inflammation they may develop and swelling. Despite the nurses comments above, Motrin IS the most recommended for dental pain as it does help with pain and swelling. She is correct that if you are not careful that you are at risk for an abscess which can be very serious and even life threatening if not treated with antibiotic therapy. Also try using a cold pack to help relieve pain. If the pain gets severe you may want to consider giving your regular dentist a call to see if he/she needs to call you in something for pain or needs to see you sooner.
