Would take a day off from work for root canal?!

Question:

Would take a day off from work for root canal?

I'll be getting root canal from a dentist soon. Some say it's a pretty big and extensive work where they may even anesthetize you.

For two root canals, do you need a day off from work for recovery?

Answers:

As a dentist I always recommend that my patients take the rest of the day off from work after having one root canal, much less two. Depending on the decay of the tooth a root canal can be a very extensive procedure and can become quite sore once your Lidocaine injection has worn off. Best advice is to take the rest of the day off from work, take any medications that your dentist may prescribe and take it easy. I also totally agree with Heather, if you are prescribed any pain meds then you will want to take one (always follow label directions) before your injection wears off. If your dentist does not prescribe you any meds then try taking Mortin, this will help relieve any discomfort you may have after you injection has worn off. Good luck.
