If they placed one of the newer white/tooth colored fills, it will be cold sensitive. This should wear away over time. However, if it throbs or gets worse, it could be that your filling is too high and needs to be trimmed down. If it was a deep filling/cavity, this will make the tooth cold sensitive longer. You can also use sensitivity toothpaste to help. You can just directly rub some toothpaste onto the tooth with your finger. Try not to rinse it off, just spit and wait 30 minutes to rinse/eat/drink. If you rinse/eat/drink you will wash away all the sensitivity ingredient and it will not help as much.

New fillings tend to be sensitive to cold for a while it should deminish with time if it worsenes have the dentist recheck it the symptom to worry about is hot sensitivity most of the time that is a sign of absessing tooth cold sensitivity should go away some times takes a while GOOD LUCK

When I had my fillings done, I had one that still gave me problems and still does to this day. I found out recently the filling isn't even there anymore, so that was my problem.

When I called my dentist after 4 weeks of still not being able to eat on it, though, they said to give it 6-8 weeks and call back if it was still sensitive after that. I would give yourself some more time, as they can take a while to get to be normal. If it gets worse or goes on more than 2-3 weeks I would call your dentist.
