Worth a try. The key is to go through the whole system to get max results. The box says not to brush before use. For me, to decrease the sensitivity in the beginning, I wear them separately and increase the time before the next round, like use one in the morning and at night instead of back to back. But the sensitivity varies from person to person. It's a strip that covers the front teeth and maybe 1 big teeth, depending on the size of your teeth. It's a thin flexible plastic strip w/clear gel on it. You put them on the front and press the other side of the strip on the back of the teeth. They'll only whiten real teeth so no dental work. I'm a coffee drinker and former smoker. They work everytime, I've been using them for almost 4 years. Some dentists also carry Crest Supreme. It's higher whitening ingredients but more expensive.
