Braces question..?!

Question: I went to the dentist yesterday, and the dentist/orthodontist told me that I am going to need braces. So we set up an appointment to do some sort of molding thing in March, and then I will be getting my braces put on shortly after that. (Ahh!) I was wondering, (people who have/had braces) what you ate when you got home from the ortho.? I am told that its going to hurt, so I wont be able to chew properly and i'll need soft foods for 2-5 days. So, someone with experience, what did you eat during that period of time?? I need ideas!! Thanks xoxoxox

I don't remember what I ate Right when I got home. Your mouth might taste like glue for a little while after wards so you might want to brush your teeth before you eat anything. Milkshakes and smoothies are good to start out with. But once you've gotten through your first solid meal you can pretty much eat anything. It doesn't hurt that much so don't be worried. When I had braces I was able to eat anything that I would normally eat. Except milk duds and really sticky caramel candies. Stay away from them.

it was ok... the molding tastes bad, so wash your mouth as soon as you can. yeah they hurt for a while and i reccomend soup... avoid chewing as much as you can and you'll get used to it

soft bread, in fact that even hurt. Just soup really and things like baked beans. Basically nothing that you have to bite on an put pressure on your teeth and nothing sratchy like crisps (chips) and also stewed apple, soft fruit like rasberries, banana. Its really not that bad. At first you think oh my god how am I ever going to eat normal food again, but after 3 days or so it doesn't hurt at all and you can eat hard food again.

JUST RIP INTO ANYTHING YOU WANT, IT HURTS BUT IF YOU'RE HUNGRY WHAT CAN YOU DO?

by two weeks you will not even feel the tightness so just indulge in whatever you can while the tightness is causing you a head
