Answers: what should i major in? i have to declare my major next quarter
Biology, chemistry, biochemistry... Any of those would prepare you. You have major in anything as long as you take care of the all of the classes that you will need to get into dental school, typically:
8 Semester Hours of General Biology (including laboratories)
8 Semester Hours of Inorganic Chemistry (including laboratories)
8 Semester Hours of Organic Chemistry (including laboratories)
8 Semester Hours of Physics (including laboratories)
3 Semester Hours of Biochemistry
6 Semester Hours of English Composition
Biology is probably your best bet. It should satisfy most, if not all, requirements for predentistry.
You need to do your pre-dental for 2 years while at the same time working on your bachelor's degree which will take you 4 years. Between the time you finish your pre-dental and get your bachelor's degree you'll likely be accepted to dental school. Dental schooling takes 4 years, but the last two years you actually get to work with patients (under the supervision of a licensed dentist of course). If all goes well you'll then receive a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
