Dentist help!! cavity question?!
Question: Last sat, i woke up with a horrible ache in my tooth, my back molar. I haven't had a cavity for over 10 yrs, so is this a sign. it still hurts, hurts to eat, drink, and i just moved to a new area, so getting to the dentist is tricky to find a good one. It has bled as well. any help from home, other than orajel, that stuff just numbs my tongue!

You could have a filling going bad, you could be clenching your teeth, you could have a more intense gum infection... these are all possibilities. Ask around to see who sees what dentist. You need to see one
Start by brushing your teeth carefully and thoroughly. Use a Water-Pik type device if you can also. Use some mouthwash after also.
Apply cold pack for swelling or warmth if none.
Take aspirin or ibuprofen for swelling and/or pain relief.
Use the Yellow Pages and get in to any local dentist you can afford for an xray and evaluation. Getting the best dentist can take forever, and you need one now. Also, a dentist can decide to issue a prescription for antibiotics which might help a lot.
If more work is needed, you can find another dentist or specialist. This might get you a week or two to do so.
if ur tooth pains when u take sweet food- it is a cavity.
if u feel pain while takin hot or cold food, it is a gum problem.
and if the pain is just due to anything, it is definitely caries.
u may take painkillers but do refer to a dentist at the earliest.
oil of clove and find a dentist!
