Will a dentist made occlusal guard recede my gums??!

Question: The custom-made occlusal guard you get from your dentist will not recede your gums. They will fit snuggly over your teeth, and do their job, better than the store-bought ones.

how about you reword that in ENGLISH...

we need more info-- what is an occlusal guard? I may have an answer but I need that first

the appliance that you had made should nt even cover the gingiva and no this should'nt happen and if it does then it was made incorretly

the occlusal guard will not interfere with your gum so it will not recede. But if you dont brush properly & allow plaque to form, then your gum will recede.

from what i have seen and heard about these things, it should HELP receding gums rather than cause them.....

Receding gums are usually caused by gum disease, gingivitis, or an imbalanced occlusion (where the teeth don't come together properly) or malocclussion (where the teeth and entire dental arch system are unbalanced)
it sounds like you may have an imbalanced occlusion or a malocclusion, and that's why they want you to wear the guard.
The guard can PREVENT you from getting the receding gums, not cause it.

Good luck!!
