Question: From what I was told at a piercing shop was not to use Listerine because of the alcohol inside of it, it dries everything out. They should have had some type of sea salt where you got the piercing at, you mix with water and rinse whenever you feel the need to, it speeds up the healing process.
If all else fails, just call the shop and ask them what you should use. Their the experts anyway.

I used listerine (mint flavor because I couldn't stand the regular and also whatever generic brand is comparable to listerine ) and some sort of gel anti-bacterial thing for your mouth that you can get at the drug store. I can't remember what it was because I've had mine for four-ish years now, but I remember putting some sort of jelly goo thing on it the first two weeks of having the piercing done. Hope you love your piercing as much as I do!! :)
It's OK to use Listerine or something else with alcohol in it but you want to dilute it with water. When I had my tongue ring I did 1/2 listerine, 1/2 water. BUT I barely did that. I swished cold camomile tea after meals, and warm salt water 1-2 times a day.
use a solution of half listerine (with alcohol) and half water. if you use straight listerine you can open your healing piercing up to more bacteria and make it REALLY sensitive.
