Lip numbness after widsom teeth removal?!

Question: Ive had my 4 wisdom teeth pulled out this morning at 11...its now almost midnight. The bleeding stopped within hours and the swollen went down also in a few hours. My lower lip (left side) is still numb and so is my chin under that side. But its not as numb as before, its more of a tingly feeling (like its unfreezing, but its not going away) My right side is fine, it has been a couple of hours after surgery. My concern is nerve damage. I know its only the first day but how long should I wait before I contact my dentist about it. I dont want to call him and have him tell me that all I need is time and to take my prescribed meds. Thanks for any input.

It's pretty usual. It took about 36 hours for the "tingly feeling" to go away when I got mine pulled. But, if it's bothering to terribly nuch, you should contact your doctor first thing tomorrow morning.

Hope I helped.

well it's hard to say, in the case of wisdom teeth surgery, nerve damage it's possible. maybe you should wait until tomorrow, and see if you feel better in the morning, if you don't then you call your doctor. sometimes the molar was too close to the nerve and maybe in the surgery it was touched, but not damage, that will cause that same numb sensation, if that was the case you should feel fine in a couple of days.
