Do silver dental fillings really contain mercury?!

Question: Yes, but it's mixed with an alloy powder containing zinc, copper, tin and silver.

Answers: Yes, but it's mixed with an alloy powder containing zinc, copper, tin and silver.

yes they do. its so they can dry and it sticks to your teeth and doesnt fall off. its like cement to your teeth. and plus, it doesnt crack.

Yes its a mix of alloy particles (copper, tin, etc) and mercury. When it's placed in the tooth a much mercury as possible is compressed out and removed to strengthen the finished restoration. They're called "silver fillings" due to their colour rather than their constituents.

EDIT: Yes, this is true. The good thing about it is that it is suppose to be the strongest bond they have. The bad thing about this is that the mercury used in these fillings will leak over time into the body, and cause problems that you may not detect to your fillings. My suggestion is that you get porcelain filings rather than amalgam fillings. A lot of people are not aware of its dangers. It also turns black after a couple of years leaking toxins into your body. Mercury is link to autism, Alzheimer's, and many other diseases. It is proven that mercury is dangerous to the body, and can even kill you if too much is released into your body. A dentist that is health conscious and not out to get your money will not recommend amalgam fillings.

Yes it does but is not absorbed by the body in that state. remains in the alloy!!
