Wondering if anyone has had the root canal of a tooth internally bleached?!
Question:
Wondering if anyone has had the root canal of a tooth internally bleached?
If so, was it successful? Was it expensive?
Answers:
My sister had her front tooth internally bleached a few times and it worked well until she was ready to have a permanent crown placed on the tooth. The dentist I work for (and she is a patient of) recommended only doing it a few times. It was not painful since there was no nerve of the tooth present since she had already had a root canal. So, if you are hoping to whiten the tooth after a root canal it is a good temporary measure. Ultimately if you have had a root canal you should have a crown (cap) put on the tooth since it will become more brittle (breakable) without the nerve supply. Good luck!
