Sensitive tooth 4 weeks after filling, should I be concerned?!

Question: I had a white filling on my upper rear molar about 4 weeks ago, ever since I had it done the tooth has been pressure sensitive....there is no pain apart from when I bite down on something hard with the tooth. The dentist did not mention it was a deep cavity and there was no pain prior to the filling.

I have heard people say that some fillings can ''upset the tooth'' and it can take weeks for sensitivity to end. What are your thoughts?

You could be experiencing pulpal inflammation, which can be caused from the cavity preparation (thermal conductivity, when the tooth is heated up).

I think you should call your dentist and let him/her know what is going on. They will be able to provide you with the best answer.

Mine plagued me for a month but its ok now, ring him and let him know.

white fills do not abrade it would suggest the fill is a little high go back and see dentist
