sounds like TMJ which sometimes results in headaches as well... i suffer from itl... first question ~ are you under any stress? typically caused by stress and grinding you teeth at night, sometimes genetics ;) my dentist suggested a custom fit night guard... my jaws still pops and has for 20 years if opened too wide, but not having pain since i have my night guard.

check with your dentist

Could be you step on something rusty and you haven't got your tetanus shot yet. You should really go to the doctor.

It sounds like TMJ, a dental problem with the jaw joint. There are treatments for it. You should ask your dentist.

Temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJD, TMJ or TMD), or TMJ syndrome. It is a disorder of the jaw and is caused by inflammation of the muscles, ligaments, etc. of the jaw. I have it and had to be fitted with a bite splint that I had to wear all night and it really did help and I no longer have pain, clicking or locking of the jaw. You need to see a dentist to assist you.
