Crowning vs. bonding teetn?!

Question:

Crowning vs. bonding teetn?

I'm getting my braces off and my orthodontist left two little gaps between each of my top teeth (uppers 2 and 3) because all four of them are kinda small, and was wondering if i should get crowns or get them bonded; crowns are really expensive and bonding doesn't last as long. Is bonding worth it?

Answers:

I have composite bonding in the front and a few crowns in the back. I had a two tiny gaps in the front that formed. This was after having my braces taken off. It was so small that my dentist didn't recommend a crown or veneer because either requires your real tooth to be shaved down slightly. With the bonding, it didn't require numbing. It was painless also. It can get stained though. I had it for 5 years and only had it redone so it looked and felt more smoothly. But no problems in that 5 years. I brushed, flossed and rinsed after coffee or dark drinks and kept up with the cleanings w/the dentist. It helps keep the stains away. Overall, I'm very happy w/them. It's much cheaper than my veneers and crowns. And no one notices the bonding but me when I look very closely in the mirror. =) Good luck!
