Has this ever happened to you at the dentist?!

Question:

Has this ever happened to you at the dentist?

They start to fill the cavity, but your apparently not numb yet and they start drilling or whatever and it hurts like HELL..so you have to yell to them to stop and then they have to re-numb you?
Is that something that commonly happens to people, or does it just take more to numb me than most people..or what? one time she even had to give me a third shot because it still wasnt numb the SECOND time she started drilling either.
has that ever happened to you? or is it just me?

Answers:

I have had that happen. In fact, when I had my wisdom teeth taken out, they had to knock me out. The problem is, I woke up in the middle of the surgery because they did not give me enough, when the dentist slipped the drill and drilled into my inner cheek. The dentist dropped the f-bomb. He told me he had to do it because if he would have drilled deeper, he would have taken out one of the major vains in my jaw, and I would have no feeling in my face. According to the dentist, each person requires different amounts to numb or knock an individual out. Kind of like alcohol. What might make you drunk, might not even give me a buzz.
