Every person is going to vary greatly from the trauma of this surgery. Some will be able to be back to normal in a few days with no complications while others will take forever with side effects like swelling, sensitivity, bleeding, etc. Just make sure you follow all the recommendations by your oral surgeon after the surgery. This will help minimize your recovery time. Rinsing your mouth will salt water and keeping the suture sights clean and debris free is paramount to the healing process.

Your cheeks will be puffy.

I recovered right after I took my gauze out. I started eating and being normal.

Sadly, most people aren't like me.

Recovery will take about a week - maybe 10 days. I had quite a bit of facial bruising when they did mine, swelling really only lasted about 2 days and wasn't a big deal, and once it's healed - you're fine.

Good luck!

Consider yourself being out of work for a couple of days to a week. You'll be painful, and you'll have to initially change your diet for the first couple of days.

assuming you have a qualified oral surgeon and no surprises you should do well....I had 4 removed at one time as a teen and was sore for a few days.

it matters.. it will probly hurt for a while. dont get them all out at the same time but within a week or 2 of each other is good.

I had 4 of mine cut out on the same day. I didnt feel a thing during the 'operation'. After I woke up though I just slept alot because I still had some of the sleepy gas in my system. Anyways, I remember that I felt 100% better in one week. Meaning the swellness went down and pain also. But everyone is different. Some people even bruise on their jaws and neck while others go to work the very next day. It just depends on how you deal with pain. Good Luck. It isnt too bad!

ask to get gas and the shots. it hurts like a mother until you take like 2 extra strength Tylenols i had a tooth pulled because my adult teeth cant come in. owch! i hope you feel good after the pulls.

P.S.
you can here your gums ripping so ask if you can listen to music

My daughter had her four wisdom teeth removed and she was pretty out of it for the first two days. Make sure you have someone to help keep frozen peas or some form of ice packs on your checks. They also need to help you get your pain meds on time. Stay propped up on pillows to help minimize bleeding.

We found out that having her put on a hoodie was the best way to keep ice on the areas. There was more swelling on the side where the teeth were more impacted. These teeth had to be taken out in pieces. The total swelling lasted about a week, but then she was okay.

She was extra careful to follow the instructions about cleaning the area, not rinsing hard and not using a straw. This helps to keep the blood clot that has formed in the empty cavity in place. We also had plenty of pudding, jello, applesauce and other soft foods on hand. You should plan to rest for at least two days and be back to music in about a week or even less. Best of luck to you!
