Try an electric toothbrush [doesn't have to be sonic] and also give Crest Pro-Health toothpaste a go. We've seen a marked reduction in the tartar accumulation on patients who are using it.
I have been happy with my sonicare brush, I think it would help. You could also try the red tablets that dye plaque after she brushes to show her how much and where she is missing.
A sonic toothbrush may help, but only after see goes to another dentist as the tartar may have to be removed by machine or scraping.
put salt on the toothbrush and scrubs yours teeth really hard
you need to find a different dentist, & report this creep. No professional would speak that way about a client, & he needs to deal with some consequences. The main thing is to find someone to help your daughter. Ask friends with kids who they go to, & if they are happy with the person & the treatment.
Maybe shes not brushing well enough and maybe she needs a new toothbrush/toothpaste.
When your toothbrush is discolored / the brush has a couple of strands out of place then its time to replace.
And use good mouthwash like Listerine.
Listerine has good tartar control.
Flossing well is good too.
And it also depends on what type of food shes eating.
