I am 63 and have a new tooth growing !?
Honestly .The first time I noticed it was only a corner and my dentist was very dismissive saying it was a bit of root left from a previous extraction,but since then it has grown more and now the middle section(it's a double) has come through.Are there any dentists out there who can tell me if this is common? Also is it likely to grow fully and will it be healthy.?Thank you

Its very rare, but there are cases where people have a third set of teeth! Now, not every tooth may have a third backup, but it sounds like in your case, this particular tooth did. You should consult with another dentist, and request x-rays. This way, you'll know for sure. Good luck and don't sweat it.
