My chihuahua has toothaches.?!

Question:

My chihuahua has toothaches.?

I found a vet over the phone that was nice enough to give me info about my chihuahua's toothaches...he told me to give him baby aspirin when his teeth would act up. I don't need any remarks about how bad of a parent to my dog I am. I'm on disability and I'm trying my best. As soon as I can get enough money together, my chihuahua will be getting his teeth pulled. A lot of the time, I don't even have the money to feed myself but I make sure he eats well. So can anyone out there please tell me what else I could give my chihuahua that won't hurt him when his teeth flare up? I really do need some good suggestions...he is my baby and if anything happens to him, it would kill me. PLEASE, can anyone help me?!!!!

Answers:

After suffering with toothache that moved all around my jaw, (I found it worse when I'd eaten) I'm certainly not going to suggest you don't feed the dog! Would any natural remedies be of any help?
I used hot water bottles which I found a great comfort and my mum got me some clove oil, but that stung and burnt my mouth like crazy.
What about bonjela - use the baby version of it though.

I hope the dog is ok ;-)
