If you have wisdom teeth that have not surfaced (still inside of gums) then the dentist will knock you out and it will be a major surgery; you'll wake up wondering what happened and all is well. Otherwise, if they have come out, then you stay awake, the dentist numbs you, and your head gets banged around while he yanks them out.
Is the answer(er?) serious? Major surgery?

the teminology is a little unprofessional. You would go to an oral surgeon to have impacted wisdom teeth surgically removed. and the dentist can remove teeth that have erupted. I would hope that the dentist would not yank ur head around because that is not good for your practice. Not many dentists remove wisdom teeth because it could be a difficult procedure so they tend to refer them to OS. Dentist does not yank them out he/she extracts them.
