Filing teeth after braces removed?!

Question: Ok, im getting my braces off in a couple of weeks and i've heard a few people say that the ortho filed the edges of their teeth to make them straighter?

just wondering if anyone has experienced this as i have bumps along the bottom of my teeth and would love them to be straight...

My ortho filed the edges on my lower teeth, he did it half way through my treatment and it definately made them look bettter, you cal alway ask that he do it when they take the braces off

I dont remember my ortho doing that. they do file the glue off your teeth though. but i guess it might depend on your teeth and your ortho.

my ortho never filed the edges of my teeth. they do file the glue off, but most don't file your teeth bec most people don't have straight edges. it all depends on how insecure these bumps make you feel, if you would feel better having them filed talk to your ortho about it.

They file your edges so that your teeth are the same length as your other teeth.
