Will rubber bands help?

i DO NOT want braces. somebody told me to use rubber bands before my next dentist appointment, and they should be straighter. is this safe? will it work? thanks, have a nice day!!!!! :)

Before anyone can answer this in depth we'll need more information. Where do you plan on putting the rubber bands, and how are they supposed to stay on your teeth without braces?
