I took off my braces at no cost. Any consequences?!

Question: 2 Years ago I took off my braces at no cost. I took it off earlier than I was supposed to. Not by myself but from some other lady who knows how to take them off good. She had a small dentist room. Is there any consequences I will suffer from this?

And also I couldn't go to my orthodontist because he is going to charge me 500 dollars. And plus he was mad that I left the state without telling him. Will something bad happen to my teeth?

Mister Cee, usually when braces are finally removed, the teeth are still easily able to move around. A dental retainer, worn all the time at first, later only overnight, stops that. Our kids' orthodontist recommended they use the retainer overnight once a week or so for at least five years. The kid who does still has perfect teeth. The one who said to hell with that now has a small gap between his two front teeth.

Taking off the braces too early might mean you still have malocclusions--places where your teeth don't meet one another as they should.

Without a retainer, your teeth probably moved a little, possibly making malocclusions worse.

Two years after the fact, it's too late for a retainer, but pay attention to any TMJ incidents, trouble chewing, or other dental problems that might be related to misalignment.

Your teeth will probably start to migrate back to where they were before you had braces.

There is a reason they wanted to leave them on as long as they were.
And you would have gotton a retainer made to wear at night to make sure your teeth don't shift.

You've probably just wasted all the money you've already spent.

Yeah, that's not smart. Braces are expensive and you should have listened to your orthodontist. You gave up too easily. Your teeth may go back to where they were before and all that time wearing them will be wasted. It will be like you never had braces. When you get your braces off, they always give you a retainer to wear 24 hours a day. The retainer is to keep your teeth from shifting back.

you should go see a dentist and have it evaluated, they probably will need some xrays
