I'm getting my braces of tomorrow?

I've had my top braces on for four years and I'm finally getting them off tomorrow morning...I still need the bottom for another 6 months or so...but I wanna know...
-Does it hurt?
-What does it feel like?
-How long does it take?
-How long until I get my retainer?
-Anything that the orthodontist WON'T tell me?

It is a little uncomfortable, you will hear popping because they basically have a tool that gets under the glue and they just pop off. Once they get the appliances off, the worst part is when they scrape the excess glue off, that doesn't so much hurt as it sounds gross and is a little uncomfortable. The whole time, just think about how cool it will be to finally have them off!! When you run your tongue across them, it will feel really slimy. It takes all together about 15-20 min. They will put some goo that you have to bite into, cherry is a good flavor if they give you an option. They take an imprint of your mouth. As far as the retainer goes, if they do it in house, like an invisaligner retainer, it should only take a day or so. If not, you will probably go back in a week. Congratulations and make sure you wear your retainer!! You don't want all that hard work and money going down the drain.
