Had a tooth extracted today?!

Question:

Had a tooth extracted today?

How long does it take for the blood clot to form?

Answers:

The blood clot begins to form before you leave the dentist office and continues developing until the bleeding stops. Once the bleeding has stopped the clot has covered the extraction area, much like a scab that covers a wound. If the clot is disturbed, a dry socket will develop which usually happens within the first 24-48 hours. That is why its important to follow the post op instructions given to prevent this from happening. Hope I've been of some help and be sure to follow all instructions given for a quick recovery. Good luck!
