My brother has been using them only once a day, instead of twice. He wants to know if anything will happen? Or is it just slowing down the process? Thanks.

Nothing is going to happen, although he is slowing down the process. Some people do it that way, as they develop sensitivity to hot and cold... it seems to help it if they give more time between each treatment.
