I need to find a good naturopathic dentist! Anyone know a good one or how to find one? I'm in DFW ...?

I have a permanent retainer on the bottom teeth from having braces. I also have several metal fillings that I want replaced. I know all the mercury and stuff has to be horrible for my health. I'm not sure how to find a good naturopathic dentist. Everyone I've seen is unwilling to replace fillings which aren't loose, and no one wants to undo my "well-respected" weasel orthodontist's masterful work.

Also, what kind of fillings can replace metal ones? Plastic? Ceramic?

Hey I'd love to see more details on the studies you guys are quoting! Especially since I can't come up with ANY references which say mercury isn't in any way harmful to the human body ...

I agree with the dentists that wont replace your fillings. Studies have shown that the small amounts of mercury in amalgam (silver) fillings are not harmful. Everytime a filling is redone you lose some tooth structure. You are better off to leave them alone if they are not broken or decayed.
