I'm a dentist, and I have both the $120 Oral B triumph and the $130 Sonic Care.
If you are the type of person that likes to feel like their teeth have been scrubbed then the oral B is the brush for you
If your gums are sensitive or your dentist has ever said that you brush your teeth or gums too hard then the sonic care is for you.
I personally switch off when the batteries die, but either is very good. The best deal on them is when costco puts them on sale, usually 25% off and you get an extra one.

I've tried nearly every expensive electric toothbrush out there - including several hundred dollar models over the years.
However, the last time I moved they got lost, and in hoping that they would turn up I bought a Oral B vitality model for about 20 bucks - its just as good as the others, just much cheaper and without all the fancy bells and whistles....like lights and noises to be exact.
There are sevreal that are either "sonic" or "ultrasonic" toothbrushes in the market today.
1) Sonicare - well known and proven to work. My personal favorite. Uses sonic technology
2) Ultreo -- relatively new, uses ultrasonic technology.
3) Oral-B Sonic Complete -- First sonic toothbrush.
In many comparison studies, Sonicare usually came out on top. It's recommended by my dentist too.
Get an electric one not sonic. Cheaper & better . DOC W
