How old is too old for braces? i dont want to look younger!?!
Question: in your opinion do braces make you look younger?
i had braces in the 3rd grade and now i'm in the 10th grade and i'm getting braces tomorrow. ( i think it sucks) my teeth are straight for the most part. they just don't touch all the way on the sides. they say it's causing me to get more cavities. =\
i'm thinking invisible on top. colored on bottom?

Definitely get braces now!!!! Don't worry about looking young, I'm sure you'll look your age.
I was supposed to get braces when I was 14 but I was too worried about what people would think of me. I thought the stupid boys would think I was ugly and that people would laugh at me, even though everyone ELSE I knew had braces. Stupid...
I'm 22 now and wish I could turn back time. I already look too young for my age, and I'm getting braces for the first time next month and I'm TOTALLY going to look like, 15. I freaking hate it... so get them while you can still look your age otherwise you'll be sad like me. Also, another benefit of getting them at the age you are is they can be covered in your parents dental plan through work (hopefully, if they have one.) If you're older, you have to pay by yourself and have fun with that, it's like $6000. At least that's what mine are costing...

Just think...if you don't get it done now when your 15/16 years old...imagine if you were 25 getting them done. Not good when your out on the town being a glam girl at 25 years old! But I have seen people in their 30's and 40's with them...better now than later.
I am not sure how much your family has budgeted for braces, but there is another way to do it called Invisalign. Its a pretty neat way to move your teeth using clear retainers that change every couple of weeks. It can't be used for everyone, but it is usually helpful for people with spaces between their teeth. It does cost more though.
10th grade is actually a great time to get braces. It will give you the incentive to make all your appointments on time and take good care of your teeth.
Think how great you'll look at prom, and for all of college.
